Wisdom Cries From Without
God’s wisdom calls out to everyone, inviting all who will listen to turn from folly and walk in truth.
This message is a profound teaching based on James 4:5-16, emphasizing the spiritual battle between pride and humility within believers and humanity. It highlights the inherent dichotomy of human nature—the coexistence of God’s spirit and sinful flesh—and how this internal struggle influences our relationship with God.
The Inner Conflict: The spirit of life God breathes into humans is pure and uncorrupted, but it dwells within flesh that is prone to sin, envy, and pride. This causes continual spiritual conflict (enmity) between worldly desires and God’s will.
Pride vs. Humility: God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. Pride is described as a spiritual force opposed to God, leading to resistance and downfall, while humility invites grace and restoration.
Submission to God: The message stresses the importance of submitting oneself to God at the moment one recognizes sin, sinfulness, or pride within oneself. This submission empowers resistance against the devil.
Drawing Near to God: Drawing near to God is presented as the key to overcoming sin and the devil’s influence—as God draws close to the humble and repentant, transforming them.
Cleansing and Repentance: True repentance involves “cleansing hands” and “purifying the heart” which stops double-mindedness and sinful behavior. It involves mourning over sin, godly sorrow, and turning from worldly joy to godly sorrow.
Warning Against Judgment: Condemnation and judgment of others is condemned, as only God is the rightful judge. Believers are urged to avoid evil speaking and judging their brethren.
The Fragility of Life and God’s Sovereignty: Life is fleeting and unknowable (“a vapor”), placing our plans and boastings in perspective. We should live with the attitude “If the Lord wills,” acknowledging God’s ultimate authority.
Authenticity over Appearance: The message closes by contrasting “looking good” (worldly approval) with “being good” (Godly character), urging believers to prioritize genuine holiness over external appearances.

Father God in Heaven
I’m asking for forgiveness for my sins and
to be Washed clean!
I Believe that Jesus the Christ died on
the cross for the sins of the world,
And that His blood was shed and
His body was broken as a sacrifice for me!
In Your Word 1st John 1:9 – The Word states:
“If you confess our sins, He is faithful and
just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us
from all unrighteousness”.
I confess I’m a sinner!
Jesus Christ
I believe that You were crucified for me!
Wash me clean that I may be made whole!
Please come and live in my heart!
I’m submitting my Life, my will, my mind, my thoughts,
& my imaginations to You
Abide in me, allow me to abide in You!
Let Your Word abide in me!
My Lord & My God!
In the Name of Jesus Christ!
Amen.
