Why am I in this perdicament again?

Honestly, how did I begin to turn,

Where’s the foundational principles!

Where is the truth I’ve learned!

What has been my guide

Had I been taught wrong? 

I have blinded myself,

My heart can’t sing Your song!

In leaving Your Truth O Lord, 

I have become prey to ignorance!

When did the love of other things enter in!

Suffocate the Truth and my diligence

In my mind I believed,

That I would serve You religiously

Practices day by day. 

But not following the only way!

Knowing You’re the only way,

Was wonderful at the start

But never truly understanding,

Only You can create a clean heart! 

For I’ve created a religion with You,

Based upon works and deeds!

While relationship is Your desire

In fellowship with You is truly required

Not the lights, and glitter of this world!

The glitz nor the glamore is our fight!

But that relationship with You and your Son

For this is eternal life!

In the Lord is where I must live!

Believing what He can do by Faith!

I must believe in Him, believe not try!

For He is my reason, He is my why!
